The Dynamic Visualization Design course is given at A? School of Arts & Design.
The interesting element here is not the creation of a full course but the integration of existing projects, supported by Aalto Social Impact, which could benefit from the students skills.
The Certified Consumer Goods project that got pitched on 12 April 2010 at an open mic and brainstorming event at Aalto Social Impact, has been selected to be integrated into the Dynamic Visualization Design course and use the students as workforce for a 3rd sector project. A real topic is a great motivating force for students to work towards a concrete result and on the other hand the work done would possibly serve the Certified Consumer Goods project and her leader.
In autumn 2010, the seminar course will also work with Aalto Social Impact members on a topic of Peak Suistanable Liquid Fuels. This is an important topic that has gotten fairly little media and public attention, especially in Finland. The students are studying how to best illustrate and communicate the related energy issues to audience at large. The aim of this project is education and communication and we are hoping the project will continue in the Dynamic Visualization Design project course during spring 2011.
The course consists of two parts:

A couple of notable student works from previous years as examples:

The first part of the course starts in September 2010 and the whole course lasts until Spring 2011. The work on the Certified Consumer Goods and the Peak Sustainable Liquid Fuels projects would therefore happen in Spring 2011.
