Pitched (14th April, 2010)
Ovivalpas is a project that aims developing a technology for helping elderly people with dementia stay at home at night. The solution will monitor the home and detect if a person is leaving the house. It will also have a feature to convince the person that one should not leave the house at night and it will also alert the person’s family in case he or she leaves the home at night.
Ovivalpas is part of a larger project called Ylämummo heilahtaa, which develops technologies to help elderly people in their every day life. The student project is funded by Aalto University Schlool of Science and Technology. The students earn credits for their work. Students from all corners of Aalto University are welcomed.
The Ovivalpas team is looking for the following:
· Elderly people willing to volunteer in testing the Ovivalpas prototypes
· Feedback on ideas from elderly people
· Students to join the Ylämummo heilahtaa project and get rewarded with study credits
· Funding for the project
