SAFIPA is short for South Africa – Finland knowledge partnership on ICT. There were some 12 delegates from different parts of South Africa visiting Finland sharing their expertise and also learning from Finnish experts. We got a last minute invite by Matti Hämäläinen , a Professor from Software Business in Aalto University to pitch ASI to our South African friends.
We got some good advice and feedback from the room and ASI also offered its platform of researcher/student community to solve some problems or get involved in the South African context. ASI is already aware of some of the great work which is going on in South Africa. For instance, at the kick-off meeting we were lucky to have Marlon Parker in the audience. Hopefully, we will have Marlon at some point of time sharing his wonderful experiences with the Aalto Community.
