Waou. It is so exciting… we have more than 160 people attending tomorrow and the pressure is up. Let’s hope it will be a great crowd of motivated people who are really there because they want to make a difference and act. We have great speakers lined up as well, so I am sure it will be interesting for anyone attending.
It has been such an incredible past 2 months. This wasn’t an easy to task to put this whole kick-off meeting together with limited resources and very few hands at the beginning. But I am so happy with the team of newly recruited volunteers. They have high energy, they understood the spirit behind ASI straight away and they totally got me on my words when I told them that they can suggest anything that seems interesting as long as they bring the hands that go with the brain that suggested it…and it works! we have such a great team and lots of things going on. This blog is one example of the things that got set up the past couple of days, as well as twitter and other social media stuff. Thanks to Sachin and Pavan in particular. Yesmith and Anki will not be able to join the event but they will be able to watch it on youtube, vimeo or facebook since we are filming the whole event. Thanks to Maria and her connection with OUBS (student TV broadcast). Yeah, Maria used to be the editor in-chief of OUBS the past couple of years. I should also mention Julius who is the current president of KEHY (development cooperation aid of HSE) and Risto who is among other things a student from the course How to Change the World. Well, you will most likely read from them in the future and get to share their thoughts on social impact and what we do. Whoever wants to be part of the team, should definitely contact us: aaltosocialimpact@gmail.com. Hopefully, after tomorrow, lots of people will be interested in what we do. See you tomorrow
Anne Badan (ASI project leader)
